About Me

I grew up in central Indiana and spent a lot of my time dreaming of getting away. So when I got the chance to go to college down south at the University of Alabama, I took it. It was there that I fostered a love of creative writing and journalism, through professors like Young Adult author Kevin Waltman and fiction extraordinaire Wendy Rawlings. It was there I wrote my first novel, and in May of 2018 I graduated from The Capstone with a Bachelor's in Telecommunications and Film and a minor in Creative Writing. I've moved back home to Indianapolis for the time being, where I spend every second not working as a production assistant for a local news station reading Megan Abbott and Holly Black or working on my latest manuscript.

Sarah wrote for the Alabama chapter of HerCampus.com, where she was honored with the award of Best Feature Article of 2016 for her response to a HuffPo think-piece. She also won two literary competitions held by the University during her time there: First place in the URCA's Creative Showcase in 2018 for the short story The End of August, as well as an honorable mention of her poem Creature of The New Lagoon, selected by Jenny Johnson, author of the poetry collection In Full Velvet, for the Undergraduate Creative Writing Poetry Award. Johnson said the poem was full of "many poignant moments in [Sarah's] necessary and intimate feminist inquiries."
